Project Leader, Hans den Hartog

I have always been intrigued to know how research findings are put into practice so when I finished my PHD in 1990, I was delighted at the chance to join Corus (then Hoogovens) as a researcher in the Ironmaking department.

Since then, I have worked in a number of areas and have always been impressed by the openness of people here to new ideas and the broad diversity of topics studied. There is never a dull moment and it is very exciting working closely with customers on large-scale projects.

In my spare time I enjoy bird watching especially in the sand dunes around Beverwijk. But the most spectacular birds I have come across have been on my foreign trips, especially in South East Africa, Kenya, Namibia and Malawi.
