Programme Manager, Roger Hammond

RD&T is all about helping to shape the future of the company. My career has been exciting and varied. I have been directly involved with the production process on the shop floor, had customer contact experience working with car companies such as Honda, Toyota and Nissan, and travelled to Japan on a project that involved working closely with Nippon Steel.

Being British, I first became interested in working abroad while studying for my MBA in 1998. As a Programme Manager my work covers the whole of the flat steel production process from raw materials through to coated products and customer applications.

Working in the Netherlands has broadened my horizons considerably. Learning how the Dutch do business and getting accustomed to a different way of life have been tremendously interesting.

It’s not all work and no play though. In my spare time I enjoy playing the guitar and jogging.
