Knowledge Group Leader, Adam Bannister

I work mainly on fracture and fatigue prevention and am responsible for the day-to-day progress of a wide range of projects, many of which have major cost and safety implications. I have to balance this with running a small group of people, keeping abreast of the latest developments and ensuring we have the right technical experts on each project.

The variety of work is the best thing about my job and can involve anything from the urgent assessment of structures when things go wrong, to long term projects involving the use of lasers for welding ships and developing new steels for use in multi-storey buildings in earthquake vulnerable areas.

In my spare time I enjoy skiing, climbing and mountain biking.
