New Business Development

This involves combining technologies to develop a new product, or transferring knowledge to an entirely different area within or outside Corus. This in turn may lead to a successful product launch – the ultimate aim of NBD.

To meet this objective, the NBD team has a variety of skills, including the ability to assess the market to see if the timing is right, whether the product will sell, what competitors are doing and which market to enter in order to make a profit.

NBD can enter into various forms of partnership, such as

• Subcontracting

NBD is interested in and actively looking for new technologies and ideas that have the potential to provide added value.

NBD manages the commercial aspects of the patents of Corus Technology.

Currently NBD has three start-ups in portfolio: HSV, SmartLite and TexSteel. Other activities that NBD is involved in include:
