REACH
REACH is a new European Union regulation concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals.
It came into force on 1st June 2007 and replaces a number of European Directives and Regulations with a single system.It is one of the largest and most ambitious regulatory regimes that European industries have seen.
REACH will affect many thousands of substances up and down the supply chain and place obligations on suppliers, manufacturers and downstream users to provide information on the substances they supply and use.
Corus has recognised its commitment to REACH and have been working with other European steel companies to create one industry position to comply with the regulation.

Corus is working with its suppliers to maintain the flow of information up and down the supply chain and will provide all required information to allow its suppliers to comply.

Corus encourages its suppliers and customers to make contact if they have any queries on REACH and has provided a dedicated helpdesk to provide professional support

There are many national and professional bodies who provide guidance on REACH including ECHA.
