Science in Steel Video

This modern Corus video is primarily an overview of the production of steel from ore to product and supersedes the previous British Steel videos, Making Steel and Shaping Steel. It includes up-to-date footage of these areas, touching on the science involved, as well as other topics such as applications in everyday life, recycling and sustainability.

The chemistry, physics, material science, design and technology etc. involved in the areas across the steel process route, will be expanded, with curriculum links and teachers’s notes, in a series of associated CD-ROMs.

Each CD will cover a separate areas and can be ordered as a set or individually. This video/CD-ROM resource will provide valuable teaching and learning material for General and Applied GCSEs, AS and A levels, GNVQ/AVCEs and Post 16. The video has an approximate running time of 16 mins
