The UK Steel Industry sponsored the Science Museum’s new Challenge of Materials gallery, which gives an inspirational and interactive insight into the world of materials. School groups, booking at least two weeks in advance, can visit the Museum free. The Museum is developing a series of educational resources to complement this gallery. If you unable to visit the Science Museum, their resources are available, and can be used, separately.

The Science Museum COMO Project, sponsored by the UK steel industry, makes available on the Internet a continuously developing and inter-linked set of resources relating to the production and uses of materials and to support the development of educational projects involving schools, colleges, the materials industries and the Science Museum (websites). Schools can publish web pages on their site based on a materials topic or project. They can be linked to the COMO database and from the school or college site.
