The International Iron and Steel Institute developed this award-winning, freely accessible, e-learning resource on steel technologies. It provides highly interactive game-like simulations of the following;

  • The main steel making processes
  • Virtual tensile
  • Hardness and charpy impact toughness tests
  • Design, make & test exercises

It also provides comprehensive modules on;

  • Ferrous metallurgy
  • Selection of steels for major applications
  • Introduction to life cycle assessment and its applications (as part of a module on sustainability and the environment)
