The provision of equipment from CSPR is helping Allport Metal Recycling (AMR) improve their steel can sorting and processing system.
AMR, based in Gwynedd, is the only independent collector in North Wales specialising in mixed steel and aluminium can collection. It operates more than 120 can banks on public areas and it is currently recovering 75 tonnes of steel per year.
CSPR’s Regional Recycling Development Executive Garvin Freeman used PRN funds to provide AMR with a new baler. The sponsorship for the new and more efficient equipment is benefiting the whole North Wales area, which has traditionally suffered a lack of effective metal recycling infrastructure.
Paul Allport, AMR’s owner, says:
"Receiving this sponsorship from CSPR has meant that we are able to process the material much faster, thus offering a much more efficient service to the community. We are very grateful to CSPR for their very kind support."
