CSPR in Action in Scotland

CSPR have demonstrated their commitment to community recycling in Scotland with the provision of a steel can baler and can conveyor for Action Recycle, the largest community recycling organisation in Scotland and the third largest in the UK.
Action collect around 500 tonnes of cans each year, of which approximately 450 tonnes is steel. These volumes, combined with ambitions for expanding their kerbside service to cover 170,000 households, meant that existing equipment was insufficient for their needs. CSPR’s Commercial Manager David Williams responded to Action’s need for investment in additional equipment with the provision of a dedicated steel can baler and feed conveyor. The new baler has the capacity to allow Action to confidently expand its steel can collection operation.
Kenny Green, Manager of Action Recycle says: 2Through good positive partnership working with CSPR Action Recycle are in a better position to recover steel cans across the central belt of Scotland."
Action Recycle’s baled steel cans are delivered into J R Adam in Glasgow, Corus’ only approved CanRoute centre in Scotland for subsequent recycling at a Corus plant.
David Williams, Commercial Manager for CSPR says: ‘We are delighted to be working in partnership with Action Recycle and JR Adam Ltd to provide an effective means of baling the significant volume of steel cans collected and a secure end market in Glasgow.’
