Nicola Bennett set to promote the sustainability of steel packaging

Nicola Bennett has been appointed to the newly created position of Sustainability Projects Manager at Corus Steel Packaging Recycling (CSPR), the UK’s centre of expertise on steel packaging recycling.

Nicola, who joined British Steel (now Corus) in 1999 and has worked as Communications Manager at CSPR since 2006, takes responsibility for helping customers of Corus, including can makers, fillers, brand owners and retailers, promote steel as a sustainable packaging material.

Commenting on her appointment, Nicola says: “I am delighted with the move and looking forward to the challenges presented by my new role, where I will be working to promote the benefits of steel packaging to the customers and partners of CSPR.

“Whilst Corus will continue to work local authorities and waste management companies to increase the tonnages of steel packaging collected for reprocessing, this new role will also allow us to encourage the packaging chain, retailers and ultimately consumers to consider the environmental impact of different packaging materials.”
