Calculating ultimate uniformly distributed load

The ultimate uniformly distributed load for any size of Durbar plate can be calculated using the formula below. For Corus' standard-sized Durbar plates, use table 1 or 2, depending upon the whether the plates are simply supported or fixed on all four edges. Values for a range of various-sized plates, simply supported or fixed are shown in tables 3 and 4.

Both references are based upon equations developed by C.C. Pounder and conform with the construction and fixing requirements in BS4592-5 : 2006.
