Bending Durbar
In most instances, Durbar can be bent without difficulty. For difficult bends, the following tips will help to achieve a successful bend.
- Bend transverse (perpendicular) to the rolling direction
- Bend through the centre of the studs, where practicable
- Use the largest bend radius possible
- Dress edges or grind them, or both
The set up of press brakes can also affect the performance of Durbar and therefore it is worth consulting your tool manufacturer about bending Durbar.
Some applications may require a different grade of Durbar. You can contact Corus about this at the location shown under Technical enquiries on the contacts page.
The recommended bend radii shown in EN 10025-2 : 2004 do not apply to patterned steel floor plate since it is difficult to factor-in the effect of the raised pattern.
