Bevelling
Plates can be edge planed to produce a range of bevelled shapes such as square, bevel or J. The maximum thickness is 127mm and maximum length is 18.3m
Fixed Bed Planer:
- The plate edge planer is able to apply square/prepared edges to long and short edges of flat plate. Material is clamped to a fixed bed and a rotary milling tool travels back and forth along the plate edge removing material by a milling action to produce various square, bevel or J configurations.
- The plate edge planer can be used to mill the edges of pates in order to achieve a width tolerance on plates (by reference to Workshops).
| Maximum Thickness | Maximum Length | Width: Plates less than 200mm in width can be accommodated but by reference to the Workshops |
| 127mm | 18300mm |
Portable Bevellers C26:
- Plate is supported on stools and the C26 beveller on a trolley mounting attached to the plate edges. Material is removed by a rotating bevelling tool
- Portable C26 plate edge bevellers are able to apply bevels to straight or curved edges of flat plate as the C26 beveller is attached to and runs along the plate edge
- The maximum plate thickness that can be handled is 50mm
- Bevels of varying angle can be applied and the machine capability is limited to 25mm maximum length of bevel.
