Joining Technology
The Joining Technology team investigate and develop joining solutions for a range of metals using welding arcs, lasers, resistance welding and mechanical fastenings, as well as combinations of these processes.
Innovative welding programmes are carried out using high-powered lasers and state-of-the-art arc welding processes.
The team also use a number of highly specialised testing methods which include flux or weld metal hydrogen determination and weld thermal simulation to aid process understanding.
The Joining Technology team regularly works with customers to improve welding techniques and product performance and has a full range of laboratory testing techniques at its disposal including optical and electron microscopy
