Hot Rolling Technical Course
The broad aim of the course is to improve the performance of Corus and Corus company rolling mills through the development of a broad understanding by key personnel of the rolling processes and the market requirements.
The intensive 5 day Hot Rolling Technical Course provides a detailed overview of the hot rolling process within the steel industry and its relationship to the various requirements of hot rolled products.
A range of metallurgical and engineering topics are covered including:
- Metallurgy of Rolling.
- Rolling Loads and Torques.
- Mill Process Control.
- Engineering limitations of Rolling Mills.
- Modelling.
There are also overviews of both the Reheating and Finishing Processes and presentations on commercial issues.
Although the course is generally run for Corus employees only, a similar course can be arranged outside Corus on a contract basis.
