Coal and Coke Testing and assessment
The mechanical and chemical properties of cokes and the properties of coals affects the efficiency and stability of the ironmaking blast furnace operation.
We offer facilities for measuring most drum indices, sizing and reactivity testing (according to standard methods). We assess coke handling properties and size stabilisation by means of automated shatter tests. We have the facilities to apply tests such as chemical, mineralogical and petrographic techniques to determine the quality characteristics of coke including optical textures and structures.
