Strain analysis
If you are experiencing problems in your pressings, we offer strain measurements using a Corus co-developed, very accurate system (PHAST), which measures areas of up to DIN A3 in a matter of hours.
The strains in the part can be compared to a Forming Limit Curve (FLC), representing the maximum attainable strains for a particular material. This enables you to judge the risk of failure of a part. To support this further, we have an extensive database of FLC’s for commonly used cold rolled steel and aluminium, and can even do the necessary gridding for you. We also provide advice about how to achieve a safer press-process.
