Fracture and Fatigue Testing
Our Fatigue and Fracture Knowledge Group has three laboratories.
Each contains a wide range of test machines and sophisticated data logging equipment suitable to be used for all types of fracture, fatigue and mechanical tests and at a wide range of temperatures in both air and aggressive environments (liquids and gases). Tests are carried out to British, ASTM and ISO Standard procedures, but one of the strengths of the group is the development of non-standard tests to evaluate finished products, weldments and structures. In effect a `bespoke` testing service can be provided and, if necessary, in-service loading and environmental conditions can be simulated.
Resources available include over thirty servo-hydraulic fatigue and fracture test machines with load capacities ranging from 20KN to 2000KN.
