About Corus Infrastructure Services

Partnerships built upon reliability & innovation.

Corus Rail Consultancy Limited originated as part of British Rail’s civil and M&E engineering design organisations. Following the privatisation of British Rail, the group was known as CEDG Ltd and was purchased by British Steel in September 1995. The name changed with the formation of Corus in 1999. Since then the company has operated as an individual company wholly owned by the Corus Group. In 2007 Corus was bought by the Tata Group, an Indian conglomerate.

The core business of the company remains delivery of exceptional engineering solutions to railway schemes in the UK and abroad. These included the extension of Sunderland Metro; the quadrupling of the line between Dublin and Kildare in Eire; and, more recently, carrying out a substantial part of the design of King’s Cross Station redevelopment. The company has also evolved in response to the requirements of the industry and provides consultancy and design services  to developers/contractors in the energy from waste sector, industrial installations worldwide, and acts as an innovative consultant and leading edge deliverer of modular and off-site solutions to construction problems.

The head office of Corus Infrastructure Services is in York and there are also offices in London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Katowice, Poland
