Following a statement on 29th Feb that wire rod prices in the UK will increase by £70 - £90 per tonne on deliveries from March 31st, Corus today warned that higher coal prices will push wire rod prices substantially higher for deliveries from April 28th.

Following the announcement of Corus Strip Products UK on 12 February 2008, Corus Strip Products IJmuiden announces that it will increase its base prices in Europe with effect from 1 April 2008 for hot rolled, cold rolled and hot dipped galvanized products by up to EUR 100 per tonne, depending on the product.
