MP and MD shown the ropes at sailing club

Aberavon MP, Hywel Francis, was recently shown the ropes at Corus Sailing Club, Margam, to celebrate the donation of a grant from the company for new training facilities.

The club comprises many members who are current and former employees at Port Talbot works, but it is also open to the public, has a junior section and provides training for beginners. The Corus award of £1,500 has been invested in the upkeep of their fleet of training boats.

Hywel Francis was joined on his venture out on the steelworks reservoir in an Enterprise sailing boat by Uday Chaturvedi, Managing Director, Corus Strip Products UK. Neither man had ever sailed before, but they were in the safe hands of sailing instructor and Corus employee Glyn Martin.
