Our organisation provides a single commercial point of contact for the construction sector for all Corus Construction & Industrial products including universal beams and columns, angles, channels, plate and decoiled plate, and a range of extra processing services covering cutting and drilling, cambering, shotblasting and priming.

Stockholding

Corus Construction & Industrial offers a wide range of long products including universal beams, universal columns, parallel flange channels and angles. An extensive range of plate from 5mm to 200mm is also supplied to British, European and International standards as well as proprietary brands of roller quenched and tempered high strength and wear resistant steels. The sections' rolling programme offers stockholders the opportunity to plan and optimise their stock levels. This is backed up by speedstock services, covering a selected range of standard sizes and grades in both sections and plate.

Shipbuilding and General Engineering

Corus Construction & Industrial offer high quality, high integrity steel products purposely designed to meet the requirements and specifications of shipbuilders as well as the ship repair and refurbishment industries. Value added services include shotblasting and priming, laser cutting and profiling as well as the capability to supply semi-processed plate sourced via our plasma and oxy-cutting machines. Corus Construction & Industrial continue to play an active role in the formulation of internationally recognised standards including those of the Ship Classification Societies.

Energy

The Energy sales team covers product sales into the offshore, plate for pipe and mining sectors. A range of specialist materials are available for technically demanding applications including the oil and gas, power generation and petrochemical sectors. For engineering based sectors, where weight reduction is a key concern, high strength quenched and tempered steel plates are also supplied. Products for boiler and pressure vessel manufacture and for use in the earth moving machinery sector are also available. Our extensive experience in the supply of multi-product packages, combined with tailored and project managed service packages ensures a high level of customer service.

Wire Drawers

Corus leads from the front in wire rod manufacturing. A high performance material for the varied applications of the wire products industry.

Corus also develops materials that have created new markets for wire rod manufacturers. For example, our high tensile steels give tyre manufacturers lower weight tyres without loss of intergral strength, improving fuel efficiency.
