Kelly Wilcock – Human Resources

Although I have only been here for a short amount of time I have experienced a vast amount of different aspects of not only HR, but also the business as a whole.

During my first 3 months here I have helped out in a number of areas in HR, mainly in the Learning & Development department, where I took my present role of L & D assistant. In this role I have learnt numerous tasks and a wide knowledge of the training programmes in Corus.

As a functional trainee I get to move around different departments within HR and I am looking forward to my next move which will be to the Recruitment department. Corus also encourages furthering your education through different courses and I am hoping to enrole in the Certificate of Personnel Practice (CPP) course in September 2008, this will hopefully expand my future career prospects.

Overall, my experience so far as a Functional Trainee in Corus has been a very positive experience. The people are extremely friendly and welcoming and I would recommend the Functional trainee scheme in Corus, as it is a great step into your future career and offers a great prospect for furthering your education and experience.
