Jonathan Tossell, Accounting Department, Finance

I started employment with Corus in November 2005.

For the past four months I have been a member of the Accounting Department based in the General Offices, Port Talbot. My primary role is to provide a comprehensive Financial Accounting service to Corus Management. I am responsible for preparing, processing and controlling data within the main accounting systems. 

My job involves controlling the weekly stores and spares issues of Llanwern, recharging internal and external companies for the service provided along with analysing and reconciling account balances.

The team I work with are always extremely helpful and have made me feel very welcome within the office. The team boast a good team spirit and have pulled together on many occasions since I have been with Corus to help each other meet deadlines and requirements that are required by the company.

Overall during my short time at Corus I have gained valuable experience on how an Accounting Department works on a daily basis and also developed my communication, numeric and computer skills. My line manager is always willing to help me progress in my role and further my education.
