Order Service
Preferred ‘A’ levels or equivalent: IT, Languages
The main purpose of these trainee roles is to co-ordinate the day-to-day running of customer accounts, providing the first point of contact for the customer and ensuring that supply continuity and excellent service are maintained. This role will have contacts across Supply Chain, customers and Manufacturing.
Successful candidates will have previous customer-facing experience and will have good interpersonal skills, whilst demonstrating an understanding of basic negotiation. The successful candidate will show drive, motivation and attention to detail. They will also have sound communication and networking skills to interact effectively in a team.
Desirable skills to carry out these roles are IT Literacy (e.g. knowledge of Microsoft packages) and language skills in French, Spanish or German.
Scheduling
Preferred ‘A’ levels or equivalent: Numerate subjects
Required GCSEs: Maths and English Language
The main purpose of this trainee role is to assist day-to-day scheduling operations. The successful candidate will be expected to create manufacturing and transport schedules as directed from the Master Plan and commercial priorities. The role will have contacts across Supply Chain, Commercial and Manufacturing and will aim to ensure high-quality customer service.
The Scheduling Team is looking for a candidate who has some knowledge of product and steel processing and awareness of business and markets. Successful candidates will also have previous customer-facing experience. The minimum qualification is two relevant ‘A’ levels with GCSEs in English Language and Maths. The successful candidate will show drive and motivation and be a decision maker.
Desirable skills to carry out this role are IT Literacy, communication, organisation, numeracy and analysis.
Planning
Required ‘A’ levels or equivalent: Maths or IT
The successful candidate will report to the Planning Manager. Responsibilities will include full involvement in weekly/quarterly planning activities, process development and administrative support. The principal duties will be to support the Capacity Planning team in the compilation of short-to-medium term plans and be an active member of the Service Improvement group. The job holder will be expected to analyse data, understand complex planning issues and support the Management team in the task of plan optimisation.
The Planning Team is looking for a candidate who has a strong background in IT. The candidate must have strong Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic skills. Experience of Microsoft Access and Web Focus would be advantageous.
